Montessori
There are lots of shelves in our classroom with plenty of work materials.
Maria Montessori came up with most of them. She observed that children learn much more when they can do something with their hands, move around and don't have to sit still for hours on end.
During the free work phases, the children can choose for themselves what they want to do.
They can also work with rugs on the floor. But of course, every child also has a desk.
The children usually start with individual work. But they can also collaborate with partners.
Of course, you have to finish one task before you start something new. Our teachers help us with this.
After working, we return all the materials to their place. We can also continue the task we have started the next day.
At the end of free work, we take our learning diary and write down what we have done. There are various smileys that we can color in.
